Meeting point: We will start our excursion departing from Athens (from the pickup point you specify) and head to Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games.
Our first brief stop will be at the Isthmus of Corinth, where you can admire the Corinth Canal connecting the Saronic Gulf with the Corinthian Gulf. After the short stop, we will continue our journey to Ancient Olympia, crossing the Peloponnese, taking approximately 2.5 hours.
Ancient Olympia is the birthplace of the Olympic Games, dedicated to the god Zeus, and quickly became the most important event in antiquity, held every four years with the Olympic Truce, a period where any warfare ceased until the end of the Games. After visiting the Archaeological Museum, the Ancient Stadium, and exploring the entire area with impressive ancient landmarks, we will complete our visit.
Before returning to Athens, we can also visit the port of Katakolon, which has become a hub for cruise ships and recreational boats in recent years. There, you can have lunch at one of the local taverns. After this wonderful experience, we can start our journey back to Athens, where the driver will get you back to the pickup point or any other location you wish to get to.
The price does not include admission to archaeological sites, souvenirs, food, drinks, or any other personal expenses
